With this year’s London Marathon now just days away, we conclude our preview by continuing our look at members of the community who will be taking on the 26 mile course to raise money for various charities and organisations.

Kisharon is hoping for record profits from their eight runners which includes Richard Hunter, CEO of ad agency McCann Erickson Tel Aviv and his friend Josef Elias, an Israeli economist, who will be flying in from Israel. Former Kisharon business manager Rachael Lindsay, along with Lewis Gelfand, Lloyd Kafton, Shimon Lev, Alexandre Neiss and Bernard Fromson complete their contingent. You can sponsor the runners via their justgiving and virgingivingmoney.com pages.

Emunah will also have eight runners competing on their behalf. Power-walking Alison Cohen, the charity’s events executive, was the first to sign up and says: “I’m excited about the race – it’s something that I’ve always wanted to do.” Other first-time runners are accountant Marc Jackson, Uri Nackash, Yonatan Wilson and Claire Gothelf. Charlotte Hamilton will be running her second London marathon, with veterans Flora Frank (also competing for Norwood), Israel-based accountant Barry Sacher and 13-year-old JFS student David Stone completing their set-up. Donations to the individual runners can be made online via http//www.emunah.org.uk

Deborah Goldman will be taking part in her first marathon, running it for Chai Cancer Care. She said: “Having lost my mum to cancer five years ago, I knew I wanted to raise money for a Jewish cancer charity and since various members of my family had used Chai’s services (as have friends), Chai was an obvious choice.” You can sponsor Deborah at: http//www.forchai.org/deborah2015/190/virgin-money-london-marathon-2015

Running for World Jewish Relief is first time marathon runner Michael Ilsen, who’s father came over to the UK on the Kindertransport. Supporting the charity because they “respond to other major international disasters as well as helping vulnerable Jewish communities around the world,”, you can sponsor him at www.justgiving.com/Michaelilsen/

Martin Bercott is another first timer who’s running for WJR and is looking to complete the course in under four hours. You can sponsor him at: http//mywjr.org.uk/martinlondonrun2015/

Antony Berkin is another first-timer. Raising money for The Joely Bear Appeal, his training has included him taking part in last month’s Vitality North London Half Marathon. Sponsor him at: https://mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/aberkinmarathon

Eli Myers says it would be “a massive achievement to cross the line…by running, walking or even rolling.” Raising money for Scleroderma Society, a disease which his grandma passed away from, he says: “I’ve always loved running as well as raising money for charity, so I thought what better way to combine the two.” You can sponsor Eli at: https://www.justgiving.com/elimyers/
