HMH hold end of season awards night
HMH brought their season to an official end when they held their annual awards night on Sunday.
More than 400 boys and girls, spanning the club’s 36 teams, along with parents, relatives and managers turned up at Finchley Progressive Synagogue, to celebrate the achievements of the players who play in the Maccabi Primary Football League, Excel and Watford Friendly League.
Chairman Nick Sonenfield said: “We send out 36 teams every Sunday ranging from under 7 to masters, meaning there are around 400 players proudly wearing the sky blue kit of HMH every Sunday.

“We’ve now settled into our new training facilities at Powerleague Finchley where we have use of a full size 4G pitch and a clubhouse and are very lucky to be sponsored by Powerleague and Top Man.”
Amongst the awards handed out saw U13 United crowned Team of the Season, while Avi Goldberg was named Club Man of the Year.
Sonenfield added: “Our U13’s won their division in the Watford Friendly League, while our senior U18 team were top of their division up till January.
“Our teams in the Maccabi Junior League were also successful, the players enjoyed their football and improved over the season thanks to the direction of our Director of Football Kurt Maginley.
“We can also provide girl’s football if we had enough girls – we currently have a handful – and also have available a ladies coach.
“With at least three new U7 teams next season, the future is bright for the club.”

Engaging
Being a community platform means so much more than producing a newspaper and website. One of our proudest roles is media partnering with our invaluable charities to amplify the outstanding work they do to help us all.
Celebrating
There’s no shortage of oys in the world but Jewish News takes every opportunity to celebrate the joys too, through projects like Night of Heroes, 40 Under 40 and other compelling countdowns that make the community kvell with pride.
Pioneering
In the first collaboration between media outlets from different faiths, Jewish News worked with British Muslim TV and Church Times to produce a list of young activists leading the way on interfaith understanding.
Campaigning
Royal Mail issued a stamp honouring Holocaust hero Sir Nicholas Winton after a Jewish News campaign attracted more than 100,000 backers. Jewish Newsalso produces special editions of the paper highlighting pressing issues including mental health and Holocaust remembrance.
Easy access
In an age when news is readily accessible, Jewish News provides high-quality content free online and offline, removing any financial barriers to connecting people.
Voice of our community to wider society
The Jewish News team regularly appears on TV, radio and on the pages of the national press to comment on stories about the Jewish community. Easy access to the paper on the streets of London also means Jewish News provides an invaluable window into the community for the country at large.
We hope you agree all this is worth preserving.
