Tel Aviv remembers Nazi persecution of LGBT Jews

A new monument commemorating the persecution of gay, lesbian, bi- and trans-sexual Jews by the Nazi regime is being unveiled in Tel Aviv this week.

The new monument will be mounted outside the Municipal LGBT Community Centre in Meir Park (Gan Meir) which serves as the city’s main focus of activity for the LGBT community.

The monument will be shaped like a pink triangle, reflecting the pink triangles LGBT Jews were forced to pin to their clothes in the concentration camps, and will feature short texts in Hebrew, English and German.
