3D project sees users ‘talk’ to Holocaust survivors
The interactive initiative users laser projections to simulate conversations with survivors, launched in Westminster Abbey
An interactive Holocaust education project which uses 3D laser projections of Shoah survivors to simulate conversation with users has been launched at Westminster Abbey.
The Forever Project has inbuilt software which matches a person’s question with the closest video-recorded answer.
The National Holocaust Centre, which developed the permanent installation, launched the project with an interfaith service attended by 700 people, including the Dean of Westminster.
The National Holocaust Centre’s Chief Executive Phil Lyons said: “A key part, if not the most important part of a visit to the Centre is to listen and talk to a survivor; with this project that will never change.’
“We are looking forward to working collaboratively with other Holocaust education organisations in the UK to establish how this vital project can help to support their work in addition to our own,” he continued.
