5 Pillars editor calls for mobs to welcome ‘Israelis at every airport in Muslim countries’

Dilly Hussain, deputy editor at the Islamist website, sparks anger after posting on social media in support of the mobs who tried to attack Jewish passengers at Russian airport

A UK-based journalist with the hardline pro-Islamist website 5 Pillars has sparked widespread anger and calls for police to investigate his social media post in which he demanded “ALL Israelis” be greeted by mobs “at the airports of Muslim-majority countries”.

Dilly Hussain, who has a lengthy record of making inflammatory statements, posted a video on X (formerly Twitter) of a Russian airport being stormed by pro-Palestinian protesters looking to attack people coming in from a flight originating from Israel.

“This is the kind of welcome ALL Israelis should be receiving at the airports of Muslim-majority countries,” Hussain then wrote in response to the video.

His tweet came hours after a mob of pro-Palestine activists ambushed Dagestan airport in Russia, chanting antisemitic slogans and forcing the flight from Tel Aviv to divert in order to protect the safety of Jewish passengers.

Hussain’s post immediately sparked calls for the Met Police to launch an investigation. Jeremy Brier KC retweeted the post, stating: “Ok then Met Police. You got the legislation. You have the evidence.”

Responding to condemnation of his tweet, Hussain attempted to suggest he was the victim of a campaign to have him deported from the UK and “relocating to Gaza or Kashmir so I can be bombed”.

He then tweeted:”I believe in the legal right for pro-Palestine protestors to express their opposition and disgust at Israeli war crimes and apartheid in every *non-violent* way available.

“I am against the harming of civilians and non-combatants while protesting. As far as I’m aware, the Dagestani protestors are angry at airport security and police for not letting them protest in front of Israeli arrivals — they’re not hunting to attack or kill Jews, this is a typical Zionist distortion of events, and it would be against the teachings of Islam if it were true.”

In recent media interviews Hussain attempted to downplay reports that babies were among those massacred by Hamas terrorists.

He said: “We are still waiting for names, pictures so we can mourn with you.”

Hussain has also previously accused Israel of being an “apartheid terrorist entity which burns and decapitates babies, kidnaps children, rapes women”.

In an interview broadcast online Hussain also once told the notorious conspiracy theorist rapper Lowkey that “interfaith” projects between Jews and Muslims were a “pure Zionist front”.

Hussain, who has written for the mainstream website Huffington Post, and has been interviewed by Piers Morgan, has also condemned the UK government’s move to proscribe Hamas as a “trap”.

Launched in 2013, 5Pillars describes itself as an “quality Muslim community media platform which is independent and professional”.

The site was found in breach of the discrimination code against the LGBT community in 2021 by IMPRESS over comments made by Hussain in 2019.

Jewish News has contacted the Met Police for comment.
