80th birthday celebrations for Ealing Liberal synagogue

Ealing Liberal Synagogue held a special celebration service last Saturday to mark 80 years since its foundation. 

It was led by Rabbi Dr Miri Lawrence and Rabbi Charley Baginsky, the chief executive of Liberal Judaism, with contributions from former leader Rabbi Indigo Raphael and student Rabbi Rafe Thurstance.

Sandra Jones, a member of the Council at Ealing Liberal Synagogue, said: “It was a wonderful, rich, and varied service, involving many from the community, followed by a kiddush, champagne reception, and a splendid lunch made possible by the generous donations from synagogue members and friends.”

Amongst the special guests were Ealing’s mayor Cllr Mohinder Midha, James Murray MP, Dr Rupa Huq MP, and Ealing Council leader Peter Mason.

Shul president William Glassman reflected on the community’s many achievements over the past 80 years and joined others in looking forward to the next 80.
