Adam Sandler’s new Netflix movie breaks critic review records

Film industry review site Rotten Tomatoes has given 'You Are So Not Invited to my Bat Mitvah' a score of 95%, the highest in Sandler's 34-year career

Adam Sandler’s new film has just become his best-reviewed.

‘You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah’ features Sandler alongside wife Jackie and his two daughters Sadie (17) and Sunny (14).

American film and TV review aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes has awarded the movie a critics score of 95%, the highest rating across Sandler’s entire career. His 2022 film Hustle received 93%, 2017’s The Meyerowitz Stories 92% and 2019’s Uncut Gems 91%.

The comedy, based on the 2005 young adult book by Fiona Rosenbloom and produced by Sandler, focuses on two batmitzvah girls competing for the attentions of the same teenage boy.

Hollywood industry figures have taken to social media to praise Sandler for his positive and life-affirming portrayal of Jewish life.


The actor has a $350 million (£199 million) deal with streaming service Netflix.


“You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah”  is currently streaming on Netflix.
