‘AliyahGPT’ launches to help those moving to Israel with AI-powered precision

A first-of-its-kind artificial intelligence tool has been launched to help British Jews navigate the Aliyah process with greater ease and confidence.

Shivat Zion, the UK’s only NGO recognised by the Jewish Agency for Aliyah support, has announced the rollout of AliyahGPT – a smart, multilingual chatbot designed to simplify the complex and often confusing journey of moving to Israel.

The tool, now live on Shivat Zion’s website, allows users to ask open-ended questions in any language, using everyday language rather than formal legal or bureaucratic terms. Powered by AI, it defines the user’s intent and delivers structured, context-aware guidance drawn from Shivat Zion’s in-house expertise.

“When making Aliyah, people understandably have many questions – and too often, those answers are spread across multiple sources,” said Shraga Evers, CEO of Shivat Zion. “That’s why we created AliyahGPT: a smart, multilingual assistant that brings everything together in one place, with clarity, accuracy and compassion.”

Unlike a search engine, AliyahGPT is trained to interpret life stories – not just keywords. For example, if a user describes being born abroad to an Israeli mother, the tool recognises the scenario as a likely case of Ezrach Oleh (an Israeli citizen born outside of Israel) and responds accordingly.

The chatbot is also fully integrated with Shivat Zion’s Help Desk, so every exchange ends with a prompt offering further personalised support.

Questions can cover everything from navigating school enrolment and tax law, to choosing communities aligned with religious observance. The AI then links the inquiry with Shivat Zion’s extensive database to provide actionable steps and explanations.

Evers said the goal was to make the Aliyah journey “less overwhelming and simpler for every individual and family.

“It’s about bringing clarity, confidence, and community to every step of the process,” he added.

The launch of AliyahGPT comes amid a growing interest in Aliyah from the UK, with families and young professionals increasingly seeking both digital tools and hands-on support to manage the process.
