All Jewish Choice care home residents tested negative for Covid-19, charity says

The independent care charity set up nearly 300 years ago has rolled out a new safety procedure to welcome new residents

An elderly Jewish care home in north London has reported today that all of its residents were recently tested negative for the coronavirus.

The results, received by Jewish Choice today, came after the 51-bedroom facility, staffed by care workers who do not work in other homes, announced earlier this month it is accepting new residents.

The independent care charity set up nearly 300 years ago has rolled out a new safety procedure when welcoming new residents.

All new residents are asked to stay in an isolation area for a period of up to 7 days where they are tested for the virus.

Should the results be negative and no symptoms are evident, they will be able to integrate into the home. If the test proves positive, new residents will be asked to stay in the area for a longer period where they will receive appropriate treatment.
