Alyth Kindergarten’s headteacher Victoria Alter was among six nominees shortlisted for a prestigious early care award last week.

She was among six nursery managers across the country vying for the accolade at the Nursery World Awards in Islington last week.

The Nursery Manager of the Year award, which was given to Ginny Andreas of the Little Adventurers Nursery in Upminster, recognises best practice, as judged by six judges.

Alter said: “I love knowing that I am contributing towards improving children’s life-long outcomes as well giving the children the very best start in life ready for when they move on to school”.

“It’s great to have the recognition for what we all do. I would like to thank all my amazing staff team who work so hard to make Alyth Kindergarten such a special place,” she added.

Deputy Head Lara Thomas, who was among those to nominate Alter for the award, said: “I call her the ‘Duracell Bunny’ as she has so much energy and enthusiasm and is an inspirational leader”.
