Another chance to see Anton Lesser and Kit Rakusen in Beshert
Three special short films are being screened in one evening at JW3 next month
Award-winning movie Beshert is returning to the big screen next month as part of The Short Films of Lewis Rose at JW3.
At this very special event on 15 April, three of director Lewis Rose’s most celebrated shorts – The Chop (2016), Pops (2021) and Beshert (2025) will be screened, followed by a live conversation with Jason Solomons.
With a tender eye for the magic woven through everyday British Jewish life, writer–director Lewis Rose crafts stories that balance humour, heartbreak and a distinctly whimsical sensibility.
Since 2012, Rose has been creating award‑winning short films that explore identity, belonging and the strange, shimmering spaces where tradition meets the modern world. Lewis’ shorts have played at over 400 film festivals worldwide, won over 75 awards to date, and been purchased for screening by Disney+ and Canal+.
In this special conversation with critic-turned-producer Jason Solomons, Rose presents three of his most celebrated works: The Chop (2016), Pops (2021), Beshert (2025)
A must‑see showcase of one of the community’s most distinctive cinematic voices offering a rich, witty and heartfelt portrait of UK Jewish experience.
