Campaigners to hold vigil after antisemitic graffiti daubed on shul and shops

Anti-racism groups are to hold a vigil on Monday after antisemitic graffiti was daubed on a synagogue and several shopfronts in the area.
Over 100 Facebook users have confirmed attendance to the gathering at 5.30pm at 80 Rosslyn Hill, but no mainstream communal groups are involved.
The author Michael Rosen and Islington Labour councillor Michelline Safi Ngongo are billed to speak at the vigil hosted by the groups Stand Up To Racism, Love Music Hate Racism, United Against Fascism, and Student Stand Up To Racism.
The Metropolitan Police said in a statement at the weekend it is investigating a racially motivated hate crime after receiving a report of the graffiti at 11.30pm on Saturday.
A Star of David and the numbers “9.11” were spray-painted at locations in Hampstead and Belsize Park, including South Hampstead Synagogue and the restaurant Cafe Hamsptead.
No arrests have been made but enquiries continue, according to the police statement released on Sunday.
