A baby boy who was delivered prematurely during an emergency operation after his pregnant mother was shot in a terror attack in the West Bank has died at the Sha’are Zedek hospital in Jerusalem.

Shira Ish-Ran was critically injured on Sunday evening in a drive-by shooting, with seven Israelis injured as they waited at a bus stop outside the settlement of Ofra. The injured included Ish-Ran’s husband, Amichai.

The Ish-Ran’s baby was delivered by emergency C-section late Sunday night at 30 weeks, but the boy’s condition deteriorated and he died on Wednesday.

Jewish group Yachad described it as “devastating news,” adding: “Our heart goes out to his parents. May his memory be a blessing.”
