Home for disabled children receives a “good” rating in all areas from Ofsted

Bayis Sheli, a residential and respite home for disabled children and young adults in Stamford Hill, has received a “good” rating in all areas In Ofsted’s most recent assessment.

The inspection criteria included overall experiences and progress of children and young people, how well they were helped and protected, and the effectiveness of leaders and managers.

The Ofsted report noted that “religious and cultural needs are expertly met” and “children’s emotional and mental health needs are very well met by staff.” It approved the appointment of an art therapist and the move to add an adapted kitchen at the premises, to enable residents to learn valuable domestic life skills.

Jacob Sorotzkin, the home’s chair of trustees, said: “We are thrilled that Ofsted’s recent report has recognised the hard work of the whole team at Bayis Sheli, led by Micki Herzog, who continue to ensure the provision of the highest quality care and educational and therapeutic frameworks to all those living at the home”.
