Be inspired at the We Believe in Israel conference

Supporters of Israel from around the country are set to take part in the UK’s largest ever grassroots conference on the Jewish state this weekend.

Former education secretary Michael Gove and Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis will be among the keynote speakers at the We Believe in Israel conference, which will also feature 70 breakout sessions, covering subjects including online activism and countering the burgeoning Israel boycott movement.

Organisers hope to surpass the 1,100 participants at the first conference four years ago.

Ambassador Daniel Taub, who will also address the event, said: “The simple but powerful message of We Believe in Israel is more important than ever. Never has it been more important for friends of Israel, and indeed all those who hope for progress and peace in the Middle East, to connect, become more informed, and learn how to make their convictions heard. Come, be inspired, and go on to inspire others.”

Speakers include academics, politicians, rabbis from across the religious spectrum, journalists, campaigners, activists and grassroots groups.

One late addition to the line-up is US pollster Frank Luntz.

He said: “Britain is an essential ally of Israel, and Israel is an essential ally for Britain. The mutuality of benefits to this close relationship is clear.”
