Beacon lights up the City’s business scene with vibrant Chanukah event
The fast-growing network, set up after October 7, is reshaping how young Jewish professionals find community and support
Over 200 Jewish professionals gathered in the City on Tuesday evening for Beacon’s second annual Chanukah event.
Held at law firm White & Case, the celebration brought together members of the community for an evening of networking, music, food and festive spirit.
Beacon was founded in the aftermath of the October 7 attacks by Turgel, Ben Peters, Josh Kanter and Josh Morris to support the Jewish business community in London. It has since partnered with the Jewish Leadership Council and Jewish News, becoming a central platform for community connection and networking with access to high quality content, people and events.
Daniel Turgel, a partner in the global M&A team at White & Case and co-head of the firm’s global technology practice, welcomed the guests and thanked the law firm for hosting the event, adding that it “had been a “great supporter of the Beacon network and the Jewish community.
“Beacon is a network for Jewish professionals to come together, feel connected, meet new people in the business community and have an outlet to come together and celebrate. The network continues to go from strength to strength, and we hope to continue our mission of bringing people together and organising many more initiatives, events and trips again next year. Also, thanks to the Jewish News and JLC who have continued to be key supporters of the network and initiative.”
With guests spanning finance, law, tech, property, consulting and the creative fields, the event showcased Beacon’s wide and fast-growing footprint across the City. Also among the attendees was Saul Taylor the newly elected president of United Synagogue.
Ben Peters, Beacon co-founder, said: “This was another special evening put on by Beacon in partnership with the JLC and Jewish News. The atmosphere and energy in the room really is what we want to harness for Jewish professionals.”
Last year, the community came together for the inaugural Chanukah Unplugged, an intimate and uplifting evening with acclaimed musician Israel Portnoy, also hosted at law firm White & Case.
