Ben Goldsmith reports antisemitic abuse in wake of 15-year-old daughter’s death

Environmentalist flagged up “countless” Jewish conspiracy theories linked to his daughter Iris’s death

Environmentalist Ben Goldsmith has reported online antisemitic conspiracy theories swirling around the death of his 15-year old daughter Iris on his Somerset farm last month, after the quad bike she was riding on overturned.

Goldsmith, the brother of Conservative MP Zac Goldsmith and documentary-maker Jemima Khan, divorced Iris’s mother Kate Rothschild in 2012 and revealed this week that he had seen “countless” Jewish conspiracy theories linked to his daughter’s death.

He tweeted: “A glimpse into the dark world of anti-Semitic/‘Illuminati’ conspiracy theory: countless appallingly upsetting tweets about the death of my teenage daughter Iris,” adding: “I’ve reported some of these but there are so many.”

Iris was laid to rest in private funeral at St Mary’s Church in Barnes, south-west London, last month. Giving the eulogy, Kate said: “I can’t possibly begin to explain the ocean of grief we find ourselves in or the feeling of being shattered into a thousand unfindable pieces.”
