The best of London culture is set to touch down in Tel Aviv next year for a major week-long festival.

The London in Tel Aviv festival follows the success of the inaugural Tel Aviv in London extravaganza, which showcased Israeli dance, music and food at the Roundhouse last winter to more than 10,000 people.

Taking place from 23-30 November, British stars from the worlds of arts, music, theatre and food are set to wow Israelis in venues that could range from the Opera House to the Tel Aviv port.

Marc Worth, chair of the project, told Jewish News:“The aim is to strengthen the bond between the two cities and between Israel and the UK. The event is non-political with no governments involved. Several artists and performers have expressed interested in participating and several have confirmed – a provisional program will be released in the coming months”

Hailing last year’s festival for “showcasing the rich culture of Tel Aviv and its citizens of all religious and ethnic backgrounds”, Theresa May told the UJIA dinner this week: “We look forward to plans for a London in Tel Aviv Festival to showcase London’s cultural diversity.”

Organisers hope the event will pave the way for similar future cultural exchanges.
