Beth’s campaign given a boost by Chief Rabbi’s backing

Beth Schlesinger with her boys during happier times

The Chief Rabbi has thrown his weight behind the campaign of a London mother who has been fighting an exhausting legal battle in Austria for custody of her two twin boys.

Chief Rabbi Mirvis penned a letter expressing his “concern” about that the Austrian court’s decision to grant custody to the boys’ Viennese father would place “a significant strain” on the boys’ mother, Beth Schlesinger.

“More significantly, I am concerned about reports that suggest the twins’ growth and development are suffering,” he wrote.

Beth has been given only limited visiting rights, and is not included in any way in matters relating to Samuel and Benjamin’s health, welfare and education.

“I would ask that all concerned address the best interests of the children and consider ways to build a better future for the boys,” said Mirvis.
