Bibi greets delegation back from Nepal and offers aid after new quake

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu greeted returning IDF Nepal delegation on Tuesday morning at Ben-Gurion Airport

The Israeli PM welcomed back the humanitarian mission, sent to Nepal in the aftermath of the earthquake which caused devastation in recent weeks, after hitting on April 25.

Netanyahu spoke of the accomplishments of the delegation.

He said: “You helped 1,600 wounded people and brought new life with at least eight births. You have shown the true face of Israel- a country that values life.”

Earlier today, Nepal was rocked by another powerful earthquake, just weeks after the initial deadly disaster, that killed more than 8,000 people.

Today’s 7.3 magnitude quake struck an isolated Himalayan area between the capital, Kathmandu, and Mount Everest, near the Chinese border, the US Geological Survey said.

Netanyahu spoke with Nepal’s ambassador to Israel to offer additional aid following  another the second earthquake. 

At least 19 people were killed and nearly 1000 injured in the latest earthquake to hit the himalayan country.
