Bibi may face Spanish Mavi Marmara probe if he enters country
A Spanish judge has asked police to notify him if Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu sets foot in Spain, suggesting a probe could be reopened into the 2010 Israeli attack on an aid boat heading to Gaza which left nine people dead.
Judge Jose de la Mata provisionally closed the investigation earlier this year, saying the case could not proceed under Spanish universal jurisdiction because those accused were not physically in Spain.
But he asked police to inform him if Mr Netanyahu and others implicated come to Spain.
The National Court said that the judge’s request was sent to police recently after it approved the judge’s decision.
Three Spanish activists had asked the court to investigate Mr Netanyahu and six Israeli officials over the attack on the Mavi Marmara vessel.
