Boca boys claim first league win

Boca Jewniors claimed their first win of the season as two goals from Elio Elia saw them to the points

All around the pitch, this was a significantly improved Boca side from the team that ran out losers last time out and the heart and desire was there today for all to see.

Boca raced into an early lead with Elio Elia breaking down the middle of the pitch and slotting cooling beyond Real’s keeper (ironically a former Boca player).

Boca were immediately put on the back foot with defender Jacob Emmanuel and midfielder Adrian Leibovitch being put through the wars with the hustle and bustle that went with the game. A string of fine saves followed from rookie goalkeeper Tom Wyse who was outstounding throughout along with some superb defending from centre backs Anton Nyman and Charlie Hollis in keeping Boca in control of the game.

Boca started the second half in similar fashion to the first – scoring a relatively early goal in almost identical circumstances; a through ball with Elio latched onto putting Boca in a 2-0 lead.

But Boca weren’t home and dry yet. A grandstand finish was set up after Real pulled one back, and although they piled the pressure late on, they couldn’t grab an equaliser as Boca held on for a memorable first win of the season.
