Prime Minister responds to question from Andrew Percy during PMQs, saying 'signatures in books are not as valuable as action' on fighting hate
Boris Johnson has said it is a “disgrace” that antisemitism is “rising again in this country” after being asked about tackling Jew hatred in parliament.
Andrew Percy MP asked Johnson about his commitment to combat antisemitism on Wednesday during Prime Minister’s Questions, ahead of the nation commemorating Holocaust Memorial Day next week.
This year marks the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, and Percy asked the PM if he would commit to act against antisemitism in the UK, saying: “Welcome though they are, signatures in books are not as valuable as action.”
Johnson said: “We want to do everything we can to stamp out the resurgence of antisemitism. I find it absolutely incredible that in the 21st century we have antisemitism rising again in this country. It is a disgrace and we must stamp it out.”
