1) Simon Moses (Los Blancos) – A superb 30-yard free-kick

2) Yoav Kestenbaum (Hendon United) – Started the move with a run from the halfway line, played a give and return with Rocky Spitzer, before rifling ashot into the far left hand corner from just outside the box

3) Jacob Richler Kleiman (Oakwood B) – Dani Dennison and Dan Ash combined, the latter crossing to Richler Kleiman, who finished into the bottom corner 

4) Zach Cohen (Mill Hill Dons) – Showed a superb turn of pace to chase down what looked like a lost cause and when he touched the ball past the Bayern keeper, he slotted in brilliantly from a seemingly impossible angle

Experience saw off youth as Dan Jacobs’ side booked their place in the last 16.

Joel Berg and Dan Stanton twice drew them level, before a stunning strike from Lee Cash put them ahead, with Stanton’s second strike of the morning sealing the win.

Jacobs told jewishnews.co.uk: “They are obviously a very good side who are fit and disciplined, but I think they’d agree we matched them physically and were the team that played the football, meaning we deserved the win.”

Daniel Seligman scored twice for the MGBSFL side. Manager Daniel Kristall told jewishnews.co.uk: “This was a bad day at the office for us.

“Firstly, may I add that the best team won. I have no complaints with the scoreline. Our squad was stretched missing several key players, but Lions used their experience and quality to come through. Having taken the lead twice, we didn’t manage the game well enough. We gave away poor set pieces and allowed Lions to play to their strengths.

“I felt as a football match, it hinged on a big decision when we led 2-1. A very poor challenge on Luke which their manager Dan agreed with me after the game should have been a straight red card in addition to a follow-up incident which to be fair to the referee, I don’t think he saw. This should also have resulted in a red card. This didn’t excuse who the better side were on the day, but I feel we’d have gone on to win comfortably against 9 or 10 men.

“We will regroup, recover some of the missing players and aim to get back to basics. DC, Adam and I have some big decisions to make ahead of next weeks QF.

“We’re having a wobble but we have lots to play for and we’ll be in contention at the end of the season.”

Brady won the battle of the top-two as they extended their lead at the top of the table.

Reiss Mogilner, Sam Castle, Charlie Kasler and David Cohen scored for Brady, for whom manager Joel Nathan told jewishnews.co.uk: “A great win against a very good team.

“We took an early lead but Redbridge stepped up a gear and finished the half with a deserved lead, but we knew we weren’t out of it and after some strong words at half-time were quickly back on level terms. From then on we moved up a gear and scored a cracker before rounding off the win with a goal in the last couple of minutes as Redbridge looked for an equaliser.”

Nathan Sollosi scored for the visitors.

HENDON UNITED SPORTS 3 NORTH LONDON RAIDERS A 0
Hendon moved up into second spot on goal difference as they piled on the pressure for the Raiders.

Ari Last, Avi Korman and Yoav Kestenbaum all got on the scoresheet, with joint-manager Greg Corin telling jewishnews.co.uk: “It wasn’t the hardest Raiders team we’ve played over the last few seasons which is a shame for the league, but credit to their young side who at times caused us problems.

“We dominated the game but should have scored more earlier in the game and that created some unnecessary nervy moments when we should have had the game dead and buried.

“Hendon are definitely moving in the right direction and we have a few more big games this year which if we can get positive results will put us in a great position for the new year.”

MACCABI LONDON LIONS WHITE 3 CAMDEN PARK 0
The Lions moved off the bottom of the table as they won the battle of the bottom two.

Adam Burchell, Kiki Levin and James Gold all on target for the home side.

Camden manager Stirling Kay told jewishnews.co.uk: “The man-of-the-match was their goalkeeper, in the first half he saved three one-on-ones, and pulled of umpteen great saves.they got into our penalty box once and scored from a penalty.

“We were superb in the first 45 minutes, yet found ourselves one down .
Fifteen minutes into the second half, they were awarded a second penalty that 99 times out of 100 would not have been given. They scored from it and it was a big blow because we had continued to dominate the half, they then scored again ten minutes from time.

“When you take into consideration that David Kallarchie played in goal because he couldn’t play on field to help the team, he only had one save to make in 90 minutes, this result hurt badly, the boys deserved so much more from the game, but goals win games and their goalkeeper was brilliant we move on!”

Oakwood continued their early season title push with this comprehensive win.

Jacob Richler Kleiman scored twice, with Ben Loofe and Sam Modlin also finding the back of the net.

Manager Jason Stein told jewishnews.co.uk: “I’m very happy with that win, our most important of the season. I felt we were the better team throughout and really put together our best performance of the season.

“At times it was heated and as usual I was my boisterous self, but wins like this are the reason why you put so much effort into a Sunday league team.

“Now we absolutely must follow it up with wins against L’Equipe and Temple Fortune. If we do, we will be right up there.”

NORTH LONDON RAIDERS B 4 FAITHFOLD A 7
Faithfold increased their lead at the top of the table to five points after they won this 11-goal thriller.

Ben Shirbini scored four times, with Zalmi Cohen, Gav Lewis and Amit Dinowitz also on target.

Player-manager Avi Markiewicz told jewishnews.co.uk: “After the mauling in the cup last week, it was essential that we bounced back and we certainly did that.

“We started the game off well and had chances, but were a goal down in a goalmouth scramble after a long-range set-piece. Soon after we brought the game level and looked the more likely team to go and score, but as is the way of things we didn’t and they did. We spoke at half-time and I made it clear that nothing less than a convincing win would do. My boys responded.

“We played some really excellent football with most of the joy coming down the wings through David Leiwy and Amit Dinowitz on his debut. We scored one, two and three in quick succession to take the score to 4-2. The pace of the game slowed a bit and around 70 minutes we scored another couple. At 6-2 in front, we settled a little too much and allowed a couple of silly goals to go in, including a contentious penalty. With things getting a little edgy man-of-the-match Ben came back on to score his fourth and really put the game to bed.”

Redbridge claimed one of the shocks of the day as the side, who went into the game one place off the bottom of the table, handed Scrabble a first league defeat of the season.

Mitch Hahn and Ashley Rubin were both on target in the host’s somewhat shock win.

Ben Cantopher scored for Scrabble, with manager Ray Abrahams telling jewishnews.co.uk: “All teams get these weeks when things just don’t happen as you would hope and expect.

“We just weren’t on our game today and all credit to Redbridge who clearly wanted it more than us and we got punished with two very soft goals against us.

“We just didn’t perform at anywhere near the level we have been and we are capable of much better and the boys know that. They’ve let themselves and the club down today with this performance.

“We were simply not good enough in many areas and got what we deserved from the game…nothing..

“Next week’s game now becomes massive for us against Faithfold as we have the opportunity to bounce back from this defeat against the league leaders and I will be looking for an immediate reaction from the players in that game.”

The Dons extended their lead at the top of the table to two points as two goals each from Zach Cohen and Adam Isaacs saw them to the win.

Dons assistant manager Jamie Nagioff told jewishnews.co.uk: “I think this was a defining moment in our season. Not just because we dominated against a title rival or because we now sit top of the league, but because we showed a defensive maturity that I hadn’t seen from us before.

“Until now, we hadn’t kept a clean sheet this season, so to shut out the top side and top scorer in the division shows just how good we were defensively.

“Harry Moss, in particular, was immense. Adam Ellis has tormented teams all season, including those in the Premier division, but Harry ensured Ellis didn’t get a look in today. The rest of the team were also exceptional defensively but Harry totally shut their main threat out the game.

“We knew we were in with a shout of going top because of our game in hand, but now we have the chance to pull five points clear of Bayern if we keep this momentum going over the next few weeks. It’s an exciting time for the club right now.”

FAITHFOLD B 1 TEMPLE FORTUNE B 2
Fortune moved off the foot of the table as they won the battle of the bottom two thanks to an injury-time winner from Jordan Jay.

Gab Saul also got on the scoresheet with a stunning effort, leaving Fortune’s Steven Black telling jewishnews.co.uk: “If we’re being honest with ourselves, we were absolutely hopeless first half but we gave a far better account of ourselves in the second half and we are delighted with the outcome.

“November has been a good month for us; two wins from three games and as I said last week, we’re really starting to build some confidence in ourselves and gel as a team. This win was really crucial for the rest of the campaign and everyone can be very proud of themselves.

“The saying goes that there are only two certainties in life; death and taxes. Let me add one more to that; a Jordan Jay winner! My word does that lad have an eye for goal!”

NORTH LONDON RAIDERS C 1 HERTSWOOD VALE 2
Vale claimed the three points as goals from debutant Ariel Weinstein and Gal Alkalay saw to a very overdue win.

Manager Jacob Emanuel told jewishnews.co.uk: “We started slow and almost fell behind, Simon Englander with a clearance off the line but we pushed on from then. Some great football found Weinstein in space up front, he took on the defender, rolled it onto his left foot before slotting into the far corner to mark his debut with a goal.

“The lead was doubled when Josh Cohen played a beautiful ball over the top of the defence from out wide, from which Gal who managed to get a header just past the keeper and into the top corner.

The second half was much of the same with some great football being played from the Vale. They pulled a goal back with 14 minutes to go, but we held to to secure a much-needed win and a deserved three points.”

Fairlop claimed their second league win of the season – and did so in style.

James Jaconelli and Bradley Gayer scored two each, with Daniel Rosen also on target. Stand-in manager Kane Hopps told jewishnews.co.uk: “In my place of gaffa Aaron for the week, I’ll keep it short and sweet due to our clubs media sabbatical, but I would just like to say it’s always wonderful to watch your side win 5-0 away from home, and also see your supposed rivals get thumped 4-0.”

Hendon manager Rafi Addlestone told jewishnews.co.uk: “Against a better side we put in a battling performance. With Gilad Kestenbaum outstanding in the defence, playing the ball on the floor and dribbling out of tackles with aplomb. Otherwise, we saw Jordan Alex put in a good shift and a battling debut from Harley Patoff. We look forward to the return of some big name players for upcoming fixtures.”
