Brent Cross multi-faith prayer room opened by community leaders

Brent Cross Shopping Centre has opened a multi-faith prayer room with religious and community leaders from North London invited to cut the ribbon on Monday.

Jewish, Christian and Muslim representatives joined Mayor of Barnet, Councillor Brian Salinger, and others to celebrate the local multi-cultural community.

Members of Hendon Mosque attended together with a Baha’l representative and Reverend Michael Giles from Finchley Methodist Church.

Labour councillor Adam Langleben praised the new prayer and quiet room, which is in the Lower Mall by the Brent Cross Dry Cleaners and is open to shoppers during centre hours.

Centre manager Tom Nathan said: “Brent Cross is at the heart of North London and we are proud to welcome shoppers from all different cultures. We recognise the importance of catering to the needs of our multi-faith shoppers and we are pleased to welcome a whole host of communities to use our new prayer room.”
