Chaplaincy appoints Board officer as operations chief

A Board of Deputies officer has been appointed as the University Jewish Chaplaincy’s new lead for operations.

Sophie Dunoff, who is in charge of the Board’s Parliamentary Affairs “brings an abundance of experience”, to her new post of Chief Operating Officer at the Chaplaincy.

Dunoff helped establish a cross party parliamentary group on British Jews, as well as produced the Jewish community’s 2015 General Election Manifeso

She will work across the UK to build relations with chaplains, universities and other Jewish and non-Jewish institutions to support and enhance Jewish students’ lives at University.

Sophie said: “I am deeply honoured to have been appointed to serve the Jewish community in such a key role. During my time at the Board I have focused on the safeguarding of religious freedoms for Jews in the United Kingdom, experiences I will use at Chaplaincy to secure the continuity of Jewish life on campus and ensure it continues to go from strength to strength. Chaplaincy plays a crucial role in thousands of students’ lives and I am excited to be a part of that vital work.”

Dunoff takes over from Suzy Richman who was in the role for seven years, in January.
