Chesed Project Assistant – Permanent

Salary £23,000 per annum
Full-Time

Chesed is the Hebrew word for kindness and that is the driving force for all that we do. US Chesed focuses on the caring part of the United Synagogue, whether that’s for our own members, the Jewish community or the wider community in which we live.

The Project Assistant will be responsible for supporting initiatives throughout the Chesed department.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading on the delivery of Chesed projects for young people working with Tribe, in schools and in youth groups
  • Supporting the Chesed Team in providing weekly food parcels
  • Assisting with the drop-in centres for asylum-seekers and refugees
  • Co-ordinating collections of food, clothes etc for vulnerable members, the homeless and survivors of domestic abuse
  • Researching and developing new initiatives and ideas for Chesed projects

You will have proven experience of working or volunteering in a similar environment, contributing to the success of the wider team.

A passion for Chesed and a commitment to the goals of the US Chesed department are essential.
