The overwhelming majority of victims of domestic abuse are women and girls. Jewish Women’s Aid is the only specialist organisation in the UK supporting Jewish women and children affected by domestic abuse and sexual violence.

Every year we provide practical and emotional support to over 700 Jewish women and girls (16+) affected by domestic abuse and sexual violence, as well as advocacy and advice, counselling, children’s therapy, training for communal professionals and healthy relationships education reaching 4,000 individuals.

Our vision is of a world where women and girls live their lives free from
all forms of violence and abuse.

Our new Chief Executive will:

• continue the crucial work we do and ensure our key knowledge and experience is a force for change
• lead a committed team of staff and volunteers, work with an informed and skilled Board and help ensure a solid financial future
• with Directors, lead our work within the Jewish community, with policymakers and partners to raise awareness of domestic abuse and sexual violence and JWA’s role in supporting victim/survivors
• provide leadership externally with funders and partners, and internally, support our directorates, ensuring they thrive
• lead on the development of JWA’s next three year Strategy (2024-2027) alongside staff and Board members

We are seeking an inspiring senior leader with a passion for women’s equality and an understanding of the Jewish community who brings:

• experience as an ambassador and spokesperson, influencing a broad range of stakeholders and raising organisational profile
• a proven track record of fostering relationships resulting in income generation and partnerships
• experience of supporting and developing staff to be the best they can be
• an understanding of the issues surrounding domestic abuse and sexual violence and a commitment to social change
• most importantly she will place the survivor at the heart of all our work.
