Comedian through to BGT final after racism jokes and dig at Wiley

A comedian who made jokes about racism – including a dig at disgraced grime artist Wiley – has won a place in the Britain’s Got Talent final.

Nabil Abdulrashid won praise from the judges for his routine about in which he took jabs at “angry, far-right guys” and made fun of his “white, liberal, left-wing friend” who says he “doesn’t see colour”.

He said during his set, that in lockdown: “One of my friends proved to be the worst type of racist, these guys are so empowered by the internet, the internet is the only place you can say whatever you like and not suffer any consequences – unless your name is Wiley.

“He should have known better. Wiley, man, I’m so disappointed.”

The grime star has been permanently suspended from Twitter after a series of antisemitic posts.

He was also removed from Facebook, Instagram and Youtube after launching a series of tirades, linking Jews to the KKK, referencing ‘Jewish power’ and threatening to come to Golders Green to confront people who reported him to the police.

Last month, it was confirmed that a police investigation into Wiley’s online conduct was dropped – after it became apparent that he had not been in the country at the time. Campaign Against Antisemitism said they had instructed lawyers to pursue the case abroad.
