A landmark conference will be held at Chelsea Football Club next month seeking to connect Holocaust survivors with the next generation.

The two-day International Forum, media partnered by Jewish News and run by the Association of Jewish Refugees (AJR), will be held at Chelsea Football Club’s Stamford Bridge Stadium in early October.

Guest speakers include acclaimed author Michael Rosen, sociologist Anne Karpf and Auschwitz survivor Lily Ebert, along with her great-grandson Dov Forman, whose jointly-written memoir has become a best-seller.

Both days of the conference, which was planned for April 2020 before the pandemic forced its postponement, will be streamed online, while Monday 4th’s events will also be held in person at Stamford Bridge.

Sessions include panel discussions on the future of Holocaust education, dealing with intergenerational trauma and psychotherapist Gaby Glassman.

AJR’s Debra Barnes said: “We’re very excited about holding elements of this event in person and really pleased that so many of our speakers are able to come along.”

AJR Chief Executive Michael Newman said, “This forum was originally planned for April 2020 but had to be cancelled at the last moment due to Covid. We’re particularly grateful to the Chelsea Foundation for sponsoring the event as part of their leading campaign and initiatives to combat antisemitism.”
