Dan Frumar named Belmont’s best

Australian wins Player and Player's Player of the Year awards at cricket club's annual awards evening.

Daniel Frumar crowned off a fine debut season for Belmont and Edgware Cricket Club when he was named Player and Player’s Player of the Year at the club’s annual award evening.

The Australian right-hander enjoyed a fine debut season for the club, which saw him, over 16 matches, average 65 with the bat and 14 with the ball.

Young GB Maccabiah bowler, Greg Mayer, won Young Player of the Year, whilst Bension Tilley received Most Improved Player after taking 21 wickets at 16 runs apiece.

The club also announced its intention to enter Division 5 of the Chess Valley League, after a five-year hiatus from competitive cricket. Club captain, Adam Jacobs said: “The decision reflects the growth of the club in 2017 both on and off the field.”
