Daniel Taub to leave post as UK ambassador after four years

Daniel Taub, Israeli Ambassador to the UK

Israel’s Ambassador to the UK is to leave his role after four years.

Daniel Taub will return to Israel this summer, the Israeli embassy announced today, ending a period which has seen Israel-UK relations flourish.

The Embassy heralded the improvement of bilateral trade between the countries in addition to the deepening academic, business and cultural ties, during Taub’s tenure.

Ambassador Taub said in a statement, it had been an ‘extraordinary privilege’ to represent Israel in the UK, “to help deepen the friendship and cooperation.”

“We will head back to Israel confident that these relations, like the wonderful warm friendships we have enjoyed here, will not end when we leave but will last and thrive for many years to come.”

Ambassador Taub’s successor has not yet been announced.
