David Beckham meets 10-year-old Jewish amputee: ‘My dream came true!’

‘Baby Blade Runner’ Rio Woolf met his footballing hero David Beckham when the two met in Sydney at the Invictus Games.

The 10-year-old joint-winner of Jewish News’ Night of Heroes young community award said: “It was an amazing Games – very inspiring – and my dream came true when I met David!

“He was really nice, asking: ‘How are you mate?’ I’m very lucky because I noticed he didn’t stop for many other fans photos!”

The fourth Invictus Games Rio’s attended – having previously been to London 2014, Orlando 2016, Toronto 2017, he was also hoping to meet Prince Harry for a fourth time, but amid heightened security, alongside Meghan, was only able to call his name in vain and video/take photos from a distance.
