Dean hits double as Redbridge A march on

WEEK SIX REVIEW

Shorn of the Hakimi brothers as well as Zack Neiman and captain Danny Berg, manager Jon Jacobs had to earn his money today with a revamped line-up.

Captained by Sam McCarthy, he led from the back today in an unusual centre back position alongside debutant Daryl Rubin.

The game was pretty even early on but with the wind swirling around, communication was key and with Ben Sollosi doing a great holding role and biting into tackles, Redbridge looked on top. Redbridge’s very own Duracell Bunny, Russell Goldstein was fresh from his hat-trick last week but in an unfamiliar right-back role. He was sent clear on an overlap and after sending over a delicious clipped cross, the ball was met perfectly by the onrushing Dean Nyman for an excellent flicked finish.

The game was becoming like a Chess match and a lot of tough tackling in the middle of the park though Redbridge continued to exploit the Camden full-backs with balls into space.

The referee was struggling to get a grip on some of the cynical tackles from behind but sometimes, we have to fight for ourselves and were strong with our tackles with Ben Sollosi absolutely magnificent in his holding role. The game was still a tough encounter and at half-time , the game was still evenly poised.

The arrival of the second goal proved to be the defining moment of the game and again, it was scored by the bully that is Dean Nyman, with a simple finish.

The game was wrapped up with the third goal which came with around 10 minutes to go. Set up by Nyman this time – and having managed to make a mess of an earlier one-on-one, Sam Sollosi did the simple thing and buried the shot.
