Redbridge inched another step closer to securing the title as they inflicted another emphatic win over relegated SPEC.

Russell Goldstein helped himself to a hat-trick, Dean Nyman and Daniel Garfinkle scored two each, with Sam Sollosi wrapping up the win.

Craig Cohen scored for SPEC, for whom player-manager Ricky Lawrence told jewishnews.co.uk: “We battled well for 70 minutes or so but then we let ourselves down in the last 20. Redbridge are a very good side though.

“I think Redbridge’s attacking threat just shades it, but Oakwood seem a fair bit better at the back.”

Finchley kept up their hopes of a top-three place as they won this five-goal thriller at Bilbaum.

Josh Gaon, player-manager Joel Holder with a debut goal and Jono Gaon all getting on the scoresheet for the visitors.

Benjamin Bell celebrated the birth of his daughter by scoring for Bilbaum, with Robert Rodney also finding the back of the net from the penalty spot.

A club statement read: “The team played well to come back from 3-0 down and had chances throughout but unfortunately they did not materialise. We have two games left and hope to deliver positive results.”

NORTH LONDON RAIDERS B 1 MACCABI LONDON LIONS B 1
Lions secured the point they needed to secure promotion.

The Raiders went ahead when Danny Bloom’s corner evaded everyone in finding the back of the net, though Lions grabbed their promotion-winning point ten minutes from time, thanks to a strike from Adam Abadi.

Raiders manager Jonathan Adelman told jewishnews.co.uk: “We shaded the first half, but Lions were stronger in the second period when our lack of substitutes saw us tire.”

Seventh hosted eighth – so it was no surprise this game ended in a stalemate.

Chaim Bardon scored for the hosts, though Benny Goldberg’s penalty – in what was the last kick of the game – ensured a share of the spoils.

Hendon’s joint-player-manager Motty Korman told jewishnews.co.uk: “We dominated and are disappointed not to have taken three points, but credit to Faithfold for defending well throughout.

“Also, a special mention to their goalkeeper who made several fantastic saves and was man-of-the-match.”

RC UK FC 5 MILL HILL DONS 1
RC UK FC got back to winning ways – and in doing so, kept on track their challenge for a third-place finish.

Ben Moss scored twice, with Jonti Aremband, Yisroel Lewis and player-manager Avi Markiewicz also all on target.

Markiewicz told jewishnews.co.uk: “The game started or didn’t in peculiar circumstances. After heading down to Ludgrove, we found that Barnet council had already taken down our goals, this despite them reassuring us that because some of our games had been called off and of our cup runs, they would keep the goals up. They didn’t. We managed to somehow quickly muster a trip to Copthall and found some playable pitches, meaning ko was delayed until 1015. Many thanks to the referee, Stephen Levy and Mill Hill for their support and not making a fuss about this.

“After conceding four goals in 10 minutes in the last game against them and giving the game away, we were desperate for revenge. Not to mention really wanting to put last week’s abysmal and disappointing performance behind us – and we went about doing just that.”
