Director of Jewish Labour Movement to leave post and join HET

Ella Rose departs position after 'rewarding and challenging' time, as she heads to Holocaust education charity at end of the year

The National Director of the Jewish Labour Movement (JLM) is to leave her role and join the Holocaust Educational Trust (HET).

Ella Rose is to depart the left-wing Jewish group by the end of the year, and take up a role as Senior Public Affairs and Campaigns at the educational charity.

She was appointed as National Director in 2016 after ending her presidency at the Union of Jewish Students, and her tenure included fraught relations between the community and Labour due to the antisemitism row.

She said her two-and-a-half years at the helm “has been rewarding and challenging in equal parts.”

Working with some brilliant activists across the UK, I’m proud of the growth we’ve seen in our Movement, the events we’ve created and the momentum we’ve started.”

The work of the Jewish Labour Movement is by no means done, and I’m proud to have been a small part of a very long and impressive history.

I’m very much looking forward to joining the inspirational team at the Holocaust Educational Trust towards the end of the year.”

Ella topped Jewish News’ 25 Under twenty five list of future communal leaders in 2015, and was second on the Thirty Under 30 list in 2017.
