Disgraced former Apprentice contestant due for hearing regarding medical licence
Asif Munaf, who has had his medical licence suspended since February 2024, will have his case heard by the Medical Practitioner Tribunal Service next month
A former Apprentice contestant who has previously blamed “the Zionist lobby” for his medical license being suspended will have a hearing before the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service next month.
Dr Asif Munaf appeared on the 2024 series of the BBC’s Apprentice, but was dropped from the show’s spinoff, You’re Fired, after complaints about some of his tweets, including describing Zionism as a “godless Satanic cult” and describing Zionists as “hideously ogre-like”. Immediately before his suspension by the General Medical Council (GMC) in February 2024, he described the regulatory body as being a “pawn” of the “Zionist lobby”.
Munaf, who was revealed by the Telegraph in June to be operating a business selling sick notes to people who wanted to go on holiday or care for an ill pet, has since been far less equivocal in his social media output. Statements by the suspended doctor in the last few weeks include “one of the worst insults is to be called Jewish”, as well as describing poverty as “a Jewish problem”. He also shared a tweet which said “Jews are the most racist and ethnocentric group of people on the planet, stop letting them gaslight you into thinking otherwise.”
Munaf, who is the director of a wellness brand, has also become known for misogynistic content. A typical example, from this month, reads “Many men lack mission. So they make pleasing their wife their mission. Your wife ought to be a supporting cast in your story. Not the main character.”
A spokesperson for the GMC said:
‘The General Medical Council has referred Dr Mohammed Asif Munaf to a Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service hearing.
‘Dr Munaf has been interim suspended since 22 February 2024, meaning he is not able to treat patients.’
Earlier this month Munaf announced that his hearing was scheduled for 5 January, referring to the GMC as the “Jew MC”.
