Dutch nurse accused of threatening to kill Israeli patients with lethal injections
Police in the Netherlands arrest nurse accused of vowing to kill Israeli patients with “extra injections”
A Muslim nurse in the Netherlands is under police investigation after allegedly threatening to give Israeli patients “an extra injection” to send them “to heaven.”
The remarks, attributed to Batisma Chayat Sa’id, were exposed by Israeli social media activist Max Veifer after they appeared in a heated Instagram exchange with Lital van Steenbergen, an Israeli-Dutch healthcare worker.
In the comments, Sa’id allegedly called Zionists a “cancer” and claimed she would “do everything in my power” to remove them, before adding the threat about injections. When challenged, she reportedly said: “All Zionists can die, inside healthcare and beyond, and I’m happy to help with that.”
Van Steenbergen filed a complaint with the Dutch Nurses Association, while her husband reported the matter to police on 18 July. Authorities told the couple they were escalating the case due to the seriousness of the alleged “plans.”
Sa’id, born in the Netherlands to Moroccan parents, has denied making the comments, telling Dutch daily De Telegraaf that her identity had been stolen and she holds “no hatred towards Jews or any people.” She has since deleted her social media accounts and says she will file a complaint for identity theft.
Police arrested her for questioning last Wednesday in Driebergen. Digital forensics specialists are now reviewing her online activity. Dutch media also noted a post under her name last year that said of Zionists: “Your time will come – don’t spare anyone,” and called the burial of Israelis in Gaza “a dream come true.”
Veifer said the alleged threats represented a “grave breach of medical ethics” and called for Sa’id to be barred from treating patients. Van Steenbergen said she hoped the swift action by authorities would “prevent harm” and serve as a warning to others.
The incident follows a separate case in Australia last month, in which two healthcare workers were suspended for two years after boasting they would kill Israeli patients and refuse treatment to Israeli wounded.
