Eilat under attack as more rockets rain down from Sinai

The Israeli resort of Eilat has once again come under fire from Grad rockets, with residents reporting hearing explosions in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The rockets were fired from Sinai, which is controlled by Egypt but from where terrorists have previously launched raids. In August 2013 the Iron Dome defence system intercepted more rockets fired from the peninsula.

Elsewhere a bomb was detonated on the border between Gaza and Israel.

“Palestinian terrorists are exploiting the area west of the border to attack soldiers and Israeli civilians,” an Israeli army spokeswoman said. “The IDF takes a grave view of this.”

Nobody was injured in the attacks and only minor damage was reported.
