Jonathan Erlich’s Australian Open is over after he and GB’s Colin Fleming suffered a first round exit in the men’s doubles competition.

The Israeli-GB duo were beaten 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 by the Netherland’s Robin Haase and Spain’s Fernando Verdasco.

Elsewhere on Wednesday, Noah Rubin’s tournament was ruthlessly ended by Frenchman Pierre-Hugues Herbert. Rubin, who claimed his first ever win a Grand Slam tournament on Monday when he beat the 17th seed, Frenchman Benoit Paire, couldn’t repeat the feat as he suffered a 6-3, 6-4, 6-0 defeat.

Thursday’s action sees Dudi Sela take on Fernando Verdasco in his second round clash.
