Erlich suffer doubles exit at French Open

Israeli loses second round match in straight sets.

Erlich has made it through to the last eight of the doubles tournament at the Antalya Open

Jonathan Erlich was knocked out of the French Open doubles competition on Thursday afternoon.

Alongside Brazilian Andre Sam, the pair were beaten 6-3, 7-5 by Mexican Santiago Gonzalez and American Donald Young. Erlich was Israel’s only senior player at the tournament, though Israel does have one more representative left, with Yshai Oliel set to compete in the junior events, which get underway next week.

Jewish interest in Paris will continue on Friday, when Diego Schwartzman takes on Novak Djokovic for a place in the fourth round of the men’s singles competition.
