Europe’s first kosher eco hotel to launch in Kent

Europe’s first kosher ‘eco-hotel’ is set to launch in Kent next month.

Set in seven acres of countryside, Sadeh Farm Hotel is a non-for-profit hotel housed in a 17th century manor house.

It will be a social enterprise run by the Sadeh charity, which aims to educate Jewish people about the environment, with all profits going to the charity. 

Five family suites at the all-inclusive kosher eco-hotel are set to open from 30 May. It will be under the auspices of KLBD, the kashrut department of the London Beth Din.

“Our new all-inclusive kosher eco-hotel is the first of its kind in Europe and we aim to provide guests with delicious and healthy kosher food while being as environmentally sustainable as possible,” said the hotel’s director, Naomi Verber. 

“We know that demand will outstrip supply this summer as families look to book a holiday in the UK and we’re thrilled to be able to offer the community a fun and completely different experience without the need to travel far.”

The hotel will offer a ‘Farm & Forest’ foraging tour, pickling, brewing and honey-making workshops, farm tractor rides, and outdoor cinema evenings among other activities.

Experts on site will guide guests through nature walks and help them learn more about the environment from a Jewish perspective, according to hotel management.

Rooms at the hotel, which can sleep 25 guests, start at £80 per night inclusive of all activities and full use of the facilities.
