Jewish foodies suffering through ‘Dry January’ have been shown light at the end of the tunnel, with the Kosher Food and Wine Experience lined up for the Sheraton Grand London Park Lane in early February.

Europe’s largest kosher wine-tasting event will hit the capital on 6 February with visitors invited to sample the fruit of vines from France, Italy, Israel, Spain, Argentina, Chile, America, Australia and New Zealand.

Embracing the January trend, organisers said the event would even feature vegan wines for 2019, while whisky-lovers will get a wee dram from leading distilleries Tomintoul and Glencadam.

Renowned kosher caterer Arieh Wagner and his team are set to serve up salt beef, tables of sushi and a selection of desserts to wash the wine down with, as organisers said this year was all about new rosés, sparkling wines, Prosecco and Champagne.

“Sparkling wine is now very fashionable all over the world,” said Benjamin Gestetner of Kedem Europe.

“At the show we will be taking the opportunity to showcase the huge range of kosher sparkling wines being produced in America, France, Italy and Spain. There will be tastings of Champagne, Cava, Prosecco, and some sweet sparkling wine too. We really want people to experience everything there is out there.”
