Netta sings her heart out during Eurovision

Supporters of Israeli emergency services volunteer group Hatzalah will get the chance to see this year’s Eurovision winner Netta Barzilai perform in London later this month at the charity’s first ever gala evening, co-hosted by Miss Israel and Miss Iraq 2017.

The Finchley Road event on 24 October is being organised by British Friends of United Hatzalah and will feature as hosts Iraq’s Sarah Idan and Israel’s Adar Gandlesman, who met at the beauty pageant in Las Vegas and became friends.

After posting an innocent selfie of the pair online, Idan and her family began receiving death threats and were forced to leave the country for their own protection. She refused to remove the photo but apologised if anyone was offended, and later toured Israel in a visit welcomed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The gala evening, to be held at One Marylebone in central London, will raise money for Hatzalah, which supports 4,000 volunteers who attend medical emergencies in Israel, often arriving before ambulances.
