‘F*** the Jews’ daubed at Jewish school in Hackney

A Jewish primary school in Hackney was vandalised with graffiti daubed on its gates reading ‘F*** the Jews.’

Simon Marks primary school was the victim of the anti-Semitic attack in East London .

A spokesman for volunteer neighbourhood watch group Shomrim told the Evening Standard: “It’s disturbing. They were nasty words. It’s being investigated at the moment – we’re checking out CCTV but no one has been caught yet.”

The Community Security Trust told Jewish News: “We’re aware of this ugly graffiti incident and regret that it may cause unease to the school and the surrounding community”.

Simon Marks refused to comment.

A second ‘unrelated’ incident occurred on the same day, according to Shomrim.

Two cars were vandalised outside Skver Synagogue – by a man wielding an axe/hammer.

The Shomrim spokesman said the incidents were ‘unlikely to be connected’, and did not say whether the second attack had an anti-Semitic in intention.

The Board of Deputies told Jewish News, it “is deeply concerned to learn of the antisemitic attack on a Jewish primary school in Stoke Newington.”

Vice-chair, Marie van der Zyl said “there is no place for hate crime, racism and extremism in this country, not least when it is directed at innocent children. It is a despicable act designed to intimidate and scare. We know that the police will work to bring the culprits to justice, to ensure acts like these don’t go unchallenged or  unpunished”
