First squad announced for 2015 European Games

Maccabi GB’s first squad for this summer’s European Maccabi Games has been announced.

Those representing Team Maccabi GB in the U16 futsal tournament have been officially announced, and will be led by the experienced management team of Laurence Myers and Scott Warren, this will be the first time this group of young players will don the ‘Union Flag Magen David’ and represent Great Britain at a major Jewish international sports tournament.

Speaking about the side Myers said: “Scott and I are both excited about the challenge ahead. We have a young but very talented squad who have now been training hard and learning the art of playing Futsal every week. Preparations are going really well with our aim being to bring home gold from Berlin and to also make sure all the boys have a full EMG experience that they will never forget.

“Being part of one of the biggest Jewish sporting events is always very special but to be part of the first EMG to be held in Germany and to compete in the Berlin Olympic village will be extra special.”
