The game was played on a large 3G pitch at Wembley and the football would not have disgraced the iconic stadium nearby.

Redbridge started slowly, but against the run of play took the lead with a slick move involving Goldman on the right, beating his man and crossing for the onrushing Garfinkle to open his account for the day with a close finish.

One became two when Sam Sollosi scored his customary goal with a low-drilled finish. The third goal came from a magnificent through ball from Goldman that Garfinkle put the after burners on for and tucked the ball away to make it three after 20 minutes.

The visitors then started playing Tiki Taka at the back and let SPEC back into the game with a succession of corners which Dan Pike eventually converted. However, Garfinkle then notched his hat-trick goal just before half-time.

Manager Jon Jacobs’ message at the break was to go for goals, knowing they were behind on goal difference to Raiders, therefore they needed to keep their foot down on the pedal. Goal number five came with a brilliant move on the right, with Cherfnoff crossing and Garfinkle scoring with his head. Garfinkle completed the scoring with his fifth and Redbridge’s sixth, with a low finish that the goalkeeper had no chance with .

The last 30 minutes were played out in first gear, with Redbridge unable to capitalise any further, but our result coupled with Raiders narrow win, takes Redbridge to the top into December’ games
