Former JLC chief Simon Johnson gets new role at accountancy firm HW Fisher

Jewish leader who worked as a senior executive at both the Football Association and Rugby Football League, made non-executive director at the company

Former Jewish Leadership Council chief executive Simon Johnson has been appointed a non-executive director at an accountancy firm.

Simon Johnson, who worked as a senior executive at both the Football Association and Rugby Football League prior to his stint at the JLC, was confirmed as having joined the leadership team at HW Fisher on Thursday.

Johnson left the JLC in June, having led it for seven years, during which time the organisation was among the strongest Jewish community critics of inaction against antisemitism in the Labour Party.

His new firm said: “Simon brings a wealth of experience from several senior executive and non-executive positions and joins while acting as an independent business and charity consultant.”

Johnson said: “I know and have dealt with many of the partners in the firm and am an admirer of many aspects of their work. I am delighted to join the leadership team.”
