Five goals from Scott Shulton, along with strikes from Jonah Gordon-Boyd and Kurrant himself, saw the side go ten points clear of their nearest rivals at the top of the table, with just two games remaining, with Kurrant saying: “I am immensely proud of what all the players and those involved have achieved. To go from nil points from last season to winning the league with two games is just reward for all the effort everyone has put in.

“Our success is down to the commitment of the players such as Alex Norman who gives up his time every week and has been a pivotal player in achieving promotion for MGB, and big performances at key times from the likes of Scott Shulton, Alex Olcot et al.

“We are now in, arguably, the most coveted league in the country. The top division possesses some great teams and just to be on the same court as them is going to develop our own players significantly and hopefully this exposure can influence younger Jewish players to get engaged with the sport and take futsal in England to the next level.”

However, he does believe there’s room for improvement for his side. He said: “We have to improve and show even more dedication to the sport to survive in Division One next season. Our movement, understanding and technical components will evolve but in order to compete, the basics need to be innate and we need to develop throughout the off season period.”

While they still have two league games left, the season doesn’t end there for the side. “We’ll use the two remaining games left in the National League so more players can get experience at that level, though the counter to that is we still want to remain unbeaten for the remainder of the season. “After that we have the U19 championships to look forward to, as well as the much prized Nike sponsored FA Futsal Cup.”

And hoping to engage more of the community involved in the sport, he said: “Maccabi GB really wish to engage the younger and have planned for the Jewish community for holiday clinics in April which we hope will be extremely popular and further expose the sport.”
