Police are still seeking a third suspect following the rape and robbery in the paris suburb of Creteil

Three masked intruders forced their way into the home of a young Jewish couple in the Parisian suburb of Créteil on Monday, raping the 19-year-old woman and robbing the home, saying that it was “because you are Jewish”.

The couple were at the 21-year-old boyfriend’s parents’ home in the predominantly Jewish neighbourhood.

After forcing their way in after the couple answered the door, the victim’s testimony states that ‘the gang demanded more money and pointed out that we are Jews’.

Since there was little cash around the house, the thieves demanded a credit card and PIN.  One of the gang went to withdraw money from a nearby cashpoint, while the second immobilised the male victim, and the third raped the woman.

Following the hour-long ordeal, the gang fled with cash, jewelry and other valuables.

Paris police have arrested two of the suspects, while a third man is still at large.

Police said the attackers wielded a sawn-off shotgun. The couple were tied up with tape and had their mouths taped over.

The attack follows another anti-Semitic incident in Créteil this Saturday night, where two Jewish men were attacked with a knuckleduster near a synagogue.
